Fall Spice Cordial - Cocktail Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/4 tsp of ground cloves (alt: whole cloves)
  • 2 1/4 cup of apple juice
  • 1/2 cup of light brown sugar (alt: sugar)
  • 1/2 tsp of dried, chopped orange (alt: orange-flavored vermouth)
  • 1/2 cup of 100 proof vodka (alt: vodka)
  • 1 tsp of ground cinnamon (alt: cinnamon)
  • 1/2 tsp of ground ginger (alt: ginger brandy)
  • 1/2 tsp of ground nutmeg (alt: nutmeg)
  • 1/2 cup of white sugar (alt: sugar)
  • 1 cup of white brandy (alt: brandy)
  • 1 tsp of real vanilla extract (alt: vanilla extract)
  • 1/2 tsp of ground allspice
  • Instructions

    Bring brown sugar, white sugar and apple juice to a boil over medium-high heat. Add cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, allspice and orange peel. Boil for 4 minutes and remove from heat. Let stand until just warm. Transfer to a clean 1 qt aging vessel. Add vanilla, brandy and vodka. Cover tightly and let stand for 1-4 weeks. Filter out solids before bottling.
